The Kalamazoo Cesar Chavez March Committee is extremely proud to announce that we are four days away from this year's Cesar Chavez March. We are excited that we will be back in person. The March is scheduled for Thursday, March 24, 2022.
The March will begin at Bronson Park in downtown Kalamazoo around 9:00 AM. Remember that this is a peaceful event honoring the legacy of Cesar Chavez and the United Farm Workers. Participants will then march to Western Michigan University. The distinguished Kalamazoo Public Schools Superintendent, Dr. Rita Raichoudhuri, will share some opening remarks. The committee is honored to announce our presenter and MC, Mr. Michael Reyes. Mr. Reyes is returning in his dynamic role of engaging students through spoken word. The keynote speaker this year is Eduardo Chavez, Cesar's grandson and director of the movie, "Hailing Cesar." Please check out the speaker tab for more information. Contact Ryan LaBudda at [email protected] or J. Alexis Mejia at [email protected] for more information or if you would like your school to participate. |
